Leon Steponovich Tolchinsky moves to a small village of Kulyenchikov to start his new job as the schoolteacher. The town of Kulyenchikov is in dire need of saving from the curse that haunts the town; making the townspeople all foolish. Leon makes it his mission to save the town. But Leon soon meets his match when he finds himself in love with the simplest girl there.
